Boabdil, was the last king of Granada. Abû Abd Al • lâh, known as MuhammadBorn in the Alhambra, son of Muley Hacén and the sultana Aixa, he revolted in Guadix against his father in 1482 and acceded to the throne thanks to the support of the Abencerrages and his own mother. He fought his father and his uncle, who also considered themselves legitimate kings of Granada.During the battle of Martín González, in the municipality of Lucena, he was captured by the Catholic Monarchs. His liberation involved giving Castile the part of the kingdom that Zagal ruled, which favored Castilian penetration and the end of the war on January 2, 1492 with the taking of Granada by the Catholic Monarchs.In 1492, the Catholic Monarchs entered Granada as punishment for the kingdom's refusal to pay the taxes they demanded. In the Capitulation of Granada it was established that Boabdil would hold the lordship of the Alpujarras.According to a widespread Spanish legend whose veracity is not attested by any documentation, when leaving Granada on the way to his exile in the Alpujarras, when he was crowning a hill, he turned his head to see his city for the last time and cried, hearing from his mother the sultana Aixa:
