Boker Sherman EDC pocket knife. A powerful collector's knife with a 7.5 cm MagnaCut steel blade and carbon fiber handle.
The Boker Sherman M4 EDC, is inspired by the success of the Boker Sherman M4 Damascus, in this version powder metallurgical steel is used for the blade, but it also has a real piece of M4 Sherman Damascus.
The Boker Sherman M4 presents a Magnacut Powder Metallurgical steel blade, known as a "miracle steel", it is a steel specially designed for the manufacture of knives, with three clear properties: edge retention, toughness and resistance to oxidation (stainless in the DIN category), there is a conflict here: to make the steel resistant to oxidation, chromium must be added, which under normal conditions makes the structure thick, brittle and prone to breakage. High hardness, which has a positive effect on edge retention, is often at the expense of toughness. Despite the high chromium content of 10.7% and an impressive hardenability of over 62HRC, Magnacut has managed to achieve a very fine structure and therefore high toughness and tolerance to impact loads. The addition of nitrogen plays a central role here. Nitrogen is actually a plague of alloy steel. Among other things, the nitrogen in the Magnacut is integrated into the crystal lattice structure of the steelwork by means of sophisticated heat treatment, among other things, and thus achieves the contradictory material properties.
The M4 Sherman EDC's blade can be opened with either the tailwing or thumb bolt and features a stonewashed finish titanium frame lock. A highlight is the Boker Sherman EDC rear spacer made from Damascus steel forged from various materials used in the production of M4 Sherman* tanks by Chad Nichols.
With transport clip (tip-up/r) and carbon fiber handle. Handmade in the Boker knife factory in Solingen. Delivered with elegant floating screen, certificate of authenticity and individual serial number.
*The American M4 Sherman was designed in 1940 and is still considered one of the most famous tanks in history.
